HOMESCHOOL ART

TAUGHT BY LEIGH COKELEY

DATES AND TIMES TO BE ANNOUNCED

Two Age-Based Studio Sessions

The Homeschool Art at The Everley is designed specifically for homeschool families looking for a creative, engaging, and skill-building art experience.

Students explore a wide range of artistic techniques while developing confidence, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills through hands-on studio work.

Each class combines art exploration, skill development, and creative expression while giving homeschool students the opportunity to learn and create alongside peers in a supportive studio environment.

To ensure students receive the right level of instruction and challenge, our homeschool program is divided into two studio groups.

K–3 Creative Artists

Young artists are introduced to the foundations of art through playful exploration and hands-on projects.

Students experiment with:

  • Painting and color mixing

  • Clay and simple sculpture

  • Drawing and mark-making

  • Collage and mixed media

  • Texture and pattern exploration

These projects help build fine motor skills, creativity, and artistic confidence while encouraging children to explore their ideas and imagination.

4–8 Studio Artists

Older students begin developing stronger artistic techniques and creative thinking skills while working on more detailed projects.

Students may explore:

  • Observational drawing

  • Shading and value

  • Composition and design

  • Acrylic painting

  • Sculpture and 3D art

  • Creative world-building projects

  • Mixed media and experimental art

Students are encouraged to develop their personal style, experiment with materials, and create artwork they feel proud to take home.

What Students Experience in Class

Each class is structured to keep students engaged while allowing time for both learning and creative freedom.

Typical studio sessions include:

  • Sketchbook warm-ups

  • Introduction to artistic techniques

  • Guided project work

  • Independent creative exploration

  • Sharing and discussing artwork

Students leave each class with new skills, finished artwork, and growing confidence in their creative abilities.

Half-Day Homeschool Enrichment Option

Homeschool Art Studio can also be offered as a half-day enrichment experience for families who would like to extend their child’s creative learning time.

This option may include:

  • Additional studio time

  • Extended creative projects

  • Hands-on STEM or art exploration

  • Outdoor creative breaks

  • Independent creative centers

The half-day option provides homeschool students with a structured, engaging environment that blends creativity, learning, and social connection.

A Creative Community for Homeschoolers

One of the most valuable parts of homeschool art classes is the opportunity for students to connect with other creative learners.

Our studio environment encourages:

  • Collaboration

  • Creative discussion

  • Respect for different ideas

  • Confidence in sharing work

Students become part of a creative community where imagination and curiosity are always welcome.
